My Mind

My mind is as boundless as the universe
Expanding and growing
Akin to the terror and the chaos
The beauty that exists in tension & in the forgotten darkness
Bright and gorgeous, barren and whole
Time in a void
Moving infinitely at the speed of light
Remembering and forgetting
Grasping and freeing.

My mind is limitless in its ability to conjure up the chaos that exists in parallel with a vast universe
Begging for solitude, to be left alone, yet the extent of humanity’s exploration has infiltrated even these corners of my own humanity
Perhaps all of nature follows the same rules
What is happening in the universe is happening in my mind
The expansion, the obscurity, the scale, the unknown
The promise of life
The danger and the hope.

Therein exists freedom and transformation.
Boundless as the universe do I exist.

Giants

We have seen their mountainous solitude for eons
Still and unwavering
We could trace their faces
Their well rounded closed eyes
They were our dead protectors
We were sure they would never rise.

Last Friday
We heard one of them moved
Frightened as we were
Unsure of what it would mean
We thought our resolve would ground us.

Yet,
Would this be the end of us?
The giants have ruled us in their slumber
For generations they have remained still
Unencumbered by what we have thought to be progress
We’ve heard stories of their fierce magnitude
Their weight
As if holding the earth in their grasp
Will our resolve face their immensity
Will their consciousness expose our fragility.

Finally,
With guarded breathes
We have watched them awaken one by one
With their eyes fixed far beyond the stars
Reaching out to the great unknown with desperation and promise
With a heavy hand of beautiful stone, made of dust and destiny
As if calling or praising the mystery lying beyond our universe.

We all watched frightened
Unnerved
As the giants stirred from the depths of the ocean bed
To the peaks of the Kangchenjunga
The desert hills of the Kalahari
To the amazon.

Our mountains have risen.

Who are we now but observers of our assured descent.
We always thought it was going to be sun.
We always thought we were the center of the universe.
The glory in the chaos.

3. Jupiter, my love.

Oh my love
You have devoured many before you
Are you so cruel that you need me to wish peril upon myself
You say come close
It is not triumph to love you only to know death
I will not exist knowing your strange entitlement
Can you love me any other way my love?
I don’t know
My love feels like weakness

Alas. I cannot look away
Watch me dance
I cannot dance any other way

Is there no other? Can I look upon no other?
Am I truly lost?

Ganymede

Jupiter..
Was that you?
You roar and thunder.
But I hear a whisper.
Call me again.
I will respond.

2. Ganymede

Dear Ganymede;

I am who I am
My might is seen through my storms
I can crush and hold
I am vicious
Yes, I am supreme
I am by no means weak
Nor will I relent.

Little one
I am in love with you
I am strength
And you are my weakness
I hold you in my gaze as you dream far beyond my reach
I hold your frame in my thoughts and long for your music
Your quiet songs of despair
Your quiet dance of love
You are the one I see
My storms wont let me unsee you
I wish I could
Darling one
Come closer ..

Jupiter.

1. Jupiter

Dear Jupiter;

I hope I find you well.

I lay awake yesterday with you on my mind
Oh how I long for you yet ..
In the dark of night I remembered the terror I feel when I think of you
You spin willfully through beautiful moments and stronghold me
Against all my ambitions
All of my strength
You draw your breathe and leave me for dead
I know, you may think I exaggerate but here I am torn into loveless pieces
Waiting for you
Needing you
Yet You, my love, speak to me with your storms
I cower behind my longings
I hold my own for only a minute
Until you crush me with your beauty
Your supremeness
Your wonder
I thought I was a waking dream.

I am your moon
I am your second
You are my world
My everything and more
I am one amongst us all
Slowly holding
While you break me.

But here I am in love
What will become of me?

Yours,
Ganymede
